Default RE: the mess ups of bowhunting

Well this is a mess-up that didn't really cost me. I had been hunting all morning and was getting tired of sitting. Just when I was getting ready to leave a 3 point came in a laid down right in front of me and went to sleep(or at least had his eyes closed) Well I watched him for about another 15 min. I was getting tired of sittin there so I got out my grunt call to try and get the deer to leave so I could get down and go. I blew that grunt call off and on for about 5 min. The deer finally decided to leave. So I got all of my stuff around, got my ornage back on, got everything in my backpack, let my bow down and was just getting ready to start climbing down when I heard something coming up the hill from below me. I turned around and looked and I saw horns of a shooter buck. Luckily I keep my relase on my wrist till I get out of my tree. But I did have to bring my bow back up and get an arrow knocked. I had the bow about half way up when the buck was at about 35 yards, and looking right in my direction. Then he started walkin again, right to me. I got my bow the rest of the way up got an arrow knocked. By this time the buck was at 15 yards and comin right under me. I drew back and when he was at about 10 yards, I let the arrow fly, takin him right in the boiler room. I watched him go down about 50 yards away in a golden-rod field. It was an 8 point with about 16 inch spread. I think the only reason this buck had come in was because of my grunting. Cuz I shot him on Nov. 10, pretty much the rut around here. Like I said not really a mess-up, but it could have been.
