Default RE: NEEDED INFO ON JACKALOPES

Here in northern Illinois most have died off for some odd reason?I have found that baiting them with lettuce, carrots and Elmer fudd decoy's work quite well,Daffy duck decoys work but only durring "duck season"or is that rabbit season? No its duck season no it's .................Stalking them can be real exiting they do have good eye sight cause of all the carrots they eat,but there sense of smell isn't the best. There hearing is probably as good as there near cousin the whitetail deer. They are actually a closer realative to the whitetail than the cottontail, yet demonstrate carrictaristics of a razzor back hog.I hit one once too, with my car and got a flat from it's teeth, they hide them well, but man are they sharp and long. That was the only one that I ever ate. I wrapped it in bacon and made a wine gravy and served it over wild rice. It's pretty good this way.Bill D>
