I'm currently selling my Remington 710 30.06 and im looking for a replacement. I the 710 shoots straight, but the bolt action is a pain to operate. It feels like I have to bring the gun to the hip and slap it to chamber a round. I was looking at the Remington 700 BDL in a .270 with a Nikon Monarch scope for here in SC. Anyone have any suggestions? Keep in mind that I am a college student and have an extremely limited budget. I'm just really looking for something I can keep a long time, possibly pass it on to the future generation, and its gonna be an ease to operate and maintain while keeping a budget.
