I seen a guy do that once back in the late 70's. He shot a doe and knocked her down. She got up and tried to run but kept falling. Instead of shooting again he laid his gun down and chased it down with his knife. He jumped on her back and went to cut her throat just as she jerked her head and he ended up puting the knife all the way through his hand. After he fell off one of his buddies shot the deer. Then my cousin and I helped by gutting the deer and loading it while they wraped his hand and headed to the hospital
