Just want to welcome you to the board ,this is the right place to be when your in need of these type of question's . yes don't over bow him let him shoot it until he's comfortable and relaxed at all time's then move him up .I shoot a 60# bow but have done some shooting with a 70# but only for a few shot's at a time ,my point is I shoot the 60# A LOT better than the 70# reason being I'm a lot more comfortable and relaxed with a 60#.He need's to be able to shoot that bow all day long not just for a few arrow's .
