The good news is that if the current game plan is wrong, the reproductive capability of the whitetail deer would allow the numbers to recover very quickly. The bad news is that if the current plan is right, it's still going to take a longer time for our forests to begin recovering.
The bad news is, if you believe the PGC stats, this years harvest allowed the herd to ncrease even more,and Alt's plan has been ineffective at controling the herd. The PGC said the anterless harvest of 352K anterless allowed the herd to increase by 1.6% and the herd has increased by 20% since alt took over in 1999. At the same time AR is adding more OW deer to the overbrowsed habitat and it adds the most deer in areas with the worst habitat. This is the exact opposite of what was suppose to happen
