Do you happen to know which brand he had? Last year I shot Tracer products lighted nocks in my ACC 3/60s but I found out they weighed in at a healthy 50 grains. This year I'm trying the Burt Coyote Lumenock. They advertise 22 grains added to your arrow. I'm not really concerned too much about that since the nocks that come in the Easton Lightspeeds weigh 13 grains, I'm only adding 18 grains to the weight of the arrow.
They are very cool when shooting them at dawn or dusk in the woods. There is no doubt about where your arrow went. I love them. BTW, you can pick up a set of the BC Lumenocks at Cableas for $24.99 for 3. They will fit most arrows on the market. I was told they won't work in my ACCs but I think with a little persuasion with an emory cloth I can get them to work.
