I dont have experiance with a spot hogg but i had this problem with a cobra sight and my sq2.
If the above suggestions will not work for you you may want to try putting a plastic shim in between where the sight ring and the bracket meet. You can drill the holes for the screws in the plastic. Not sure if this will work for the spot hog but it solved my problem
