I have never taken a bull elk with my bow (several with rifle and muzzle loader), and hope to go some day with the bow. My point is that last year I was at one of our suppliers through work, and the one guy goes on to tell me the same thing about 50++ yard shots. I AM an avid whitetail bow hunter and know that alot can go wrong after the 40 yard mark. This guy also commented on "how many shots" they had....errrgghh!! SOunded like a few wounded, several missed and only one or two taken. I tried to be somewhat politically correct due to the work environment and location of discussion, but I made it clear that he seriously needs to re-think his (their) range selection and think about the animal :-(
