I am going to start loading for my 243. I was wondering if anyone knows a really good Hot load that is a little above max but still safe. I will start out light and work my way up to this. I was just wondering what a good load is! Thanks Slayer
NO! But let me qualify that. NO LOAD THAT IS ABOVE MAX FOR YOUR INDIVIDUAL RIFLE IS SAFE TO FIRE IN THAT RIFLE! However, just because a particular loading manual says some such load or the other is max., doesn't mean it is max in your gun!
It might be max., under max., or dangerously over max., IN YOUR GUN!!!
The only way you'll be able to find this out is by developing the load, 1/2 a grain increase at a time, in your own rifle!! If you use some data that works in somebody else's gun to go "over max" in your rifle, you are a fool!!
