I personally pass up any and all running shots. Never having done much bird hunting, I'm pretty deliberate about shooting. I've changed my hunting tactics over time to avoid facing the running game problem as much as possible. I stillhunt about 50-150 yards per hour: 2-4 steps, stop and look for 30 seconds to 5 minutes, then 2-4 more steps and so on.
