Default RE: self nocks, reinforced nocks?

interesting stuff Walley! I bet it would work. The jig in TBB is very similar to the one that Ted Fry had machined, although a little different. It has a V notch cut out and also one very similar for doing the self nock (one on both end) where Teds has the nock and the reinforcement slots on the same jig) My bandsaw drifts away from the square slot so using it is going to be tough, the bigger blade is much less then the smaller one and freehand is an option but with my hands I might want to re eval ! I am gonna try and make that jig in the near future and a partner of mine is a machinist. Gonna have him machine it out once I get a good wooden one made. He is also making me a motor mount for my cataraft!

Hey Greg. My wife picked me up a few books for valentines day. She found one on knife making (and she thought I had enuf hobbies already LOL) I plan on making some turkey box calls for a few buddies for xmas!)...its says how to do the blades but is more on how to do the handles. Just what I was looking for. It talks about all wood, all horn with wooden ends, and mixtures! Also sheaths. Kinda like Knive Handles for Dummies 101...just my style ! I did leave it at work and I can pick it up tonite and post the title....I have to go by there anyways.....
