I put a Simmons Pro Diamond 2X scope on mine and absolutely love it. I like the low power. The 835 is pre drilled for a mount and I used a Weaver mount---can't remember the number.

I believe that you will find---like others in this forum---that once you use a scope you won't go back. I have never had any problems with it fogging up like some have---and if and when I do I may reconsider---but after two seasons with the scope---I'm a strong advocate for using one.
