All,Whenever possible I like to set up above the birds.Some times the situation won't let ya do this.This is where pre season scoutin pays off.Here's an example.Last Spring,Adrian,Scrapper 1 and I hunted a hill that Scrapper knows like the back of his hand.Knowin where the birds were roosted Scrapper knew there was no way those birds would come uphill through a solid wall of mutriflora rose and green briers.Knowin this plus the fact the gobblers liked to come into the pasture that was at the bottom of the hill we sat up directly below the birds(we had no choice).After the birds hit the ground it only took about 10 min. of coaxin to call in the 3 gobblers and 2 hens.That's where one of the gobblers met a load of Federal 6 shot.
