Without a doubt the Marlin 336 is the best lever action 30-30 on the market today. Just a second thought, you might want to look at a Remington pump gun in 30-06 since you already have a 30-06 and can use the same ammo for each rifle. This is a fast handling rifle equipped with iron sights. Follow up shots with the Remington pump will probably be quicker than with the lever action and you will have a more effective range if needed.
