I'm actually surprised at your impression of the Hoyts!?.....But hey you shot em'.
I shot a Havoctec at 28" and 70# and it was very smooth to me.......I also shot an SQ2 and I didn't notice a HUGE difference.....some but not as far as to say it SUCKED Frank's gonna love that one. heheh.

ANyway......whatever you choose I'm glad your getting one that fits.

Funny how different peoples impressions of bows vary from person to person.....I shot the Q2 and the Patriot myself.....and had heard from dealers who shot both decidedly like the feel of the Patriot better.
It really is a personal thing.

Oh and about that Mathews "Rumor"......I wasn't there, but talked at length with a guy who was standing right next to one of the (2) that let go.....he "thinks" one was dry fired, or a string let go as you said(he didn't witness).....but the other one definitely WASN'T a string that let go(according to him), the RISER cracked in half.
I am stating for the record that I cannot verify this , but this source was RIGHT THERE when it happened.....he's a rep for another manufacturer so he could have other motives....but he sounded pretty sincere to me.
All this really doesn't mean a hill of beans either, cause a cracked riser could happen to anyone at anytime, so if that IS what happened it could have just been the worst of luck.
