Default RE: Grizzly bear challenge, 100 yard full charge

This guy charged me back in October. Not a real threating charge, but he did growl, pop his jaws, stood up and came at me stomping the ground with both paws. I was out only with my camcorder, no gun or bow. I was able to hang around this guy for nearly 15 minutes from 30 or so yards most of the time.

Most attacks happen in a surprise situation, and as you can read from most of these stories, the vast majority of these charges end up with the bear moving off. Bears would make great poker players as they lay down some of the best bluffs on the planet. I've been charged 4 times now, and have seen other instances of charges. However when you hear about maulings, it is very rare to hear about hunters being mauled, you always here campers (like Timothy Snackwell), hikers, bikers, etc.

I'd hope that if somebody was going into bear country, especially to hunt bears, they'd learn their behaviours, and what to watch for and how to try and stay out of dangerous situations.
