A 22-250 will killem all day long. What you loose in brute force you can make up for with tight shot groups. Alot of guys out here think bigger is always better, kinda like who has the biggest 4x4. Don't need to make a hole you can put your fist into to killem. Get past the ego thing and make good shots the 22-250 will work fine.
It has nothing to do wth ego. I think a .22 caliber bullet will probably do fine on a southern deer and it can kill a midwestern deer but why risk it if you don't have to.
