Back in the 50's when I was getting my first gun I had my eyes set on the model 88. When I went to get my new gun my dad talked me out of the 88 for a bolt action. The bolt action was a pre 64 model 70 that cost me a mighty $90. So in those days it didn't matter which one you got they both became collectible. I just handed that gun over to my son for his collection.
