I agree with rack get to where he calls home and feels safe. When you find these places calls, rattling, etc will be much more effective. However sometimes is best to wait him out and only the guy hunting those woods can make that call. I say when in doubt head deep and don't say a peep!!

Do some off season scouting, those who put in the time will be rewarded eventually!

Does are a good bet during certain times of year but his safe grounds/bedding area will produce throughout all times of the year. Not saying the advice of hunting does isn't a good one, cuz it is during the right time. Just don't throw all your eggs into the rut basket, as it can be highly unpredictable(I view it as feast or famine).
