Default RE: Swift A-frame bullets for a 7-08

Hi oldelkhunter,

I think the A-Frames would solve the "disinegrating" bullet act. But yes...they are expensive. And Partitions hold together....but the front does open up rather quickly.

Maybe a somewhat cheaper solution.....is "load it down" a little. If you're shooting at short range anyhow.....you'll lose nothing in "meaningful trajectory". (Unless the freak possibility of a long shot is a possibility.....I don't know the answer to that question.) But why not consider a medium weight bullet.....with maybe a round or flat nose so it expands well at reduced velocity....still kills well.....and doesn't bloodshot a quarter in the process?

If your shots are short....and deer are the game.....pick an appropriate bullet and back it off a little! You'll lose nothing in meaninful lethality. Just gain a few extra pounds of edible meat.

Best of luck.
