You didn't say, but you can have it fast, pretty, or both, but they would all require different combos. I have a long draw, and have settled on Black locust back, bamboo core and yew belly with osage riser. Also like red cedar and ash.
My newest (takedown) is from Saxon, and randy used an ash core, edge grain elm back, and straight grain belly with phenolic overlays and feathering with a nice golden osage riser. I believe it is the fastest 64inch longbow I've ever used. I plan to commit mass murder with it this month on Javalina.....
