Arthur,you know I can tune a bow or atleast I would hope you would know that after the many conversations we have had on this forum.
I agree that speed will make a huge difference in the shootability and tunability of a fixed head and yes an aluminum log

will be more forgiving on a torqued shot or a high wind shot than a light carbon,BUT,it is still not going to completely make up for the head.
On a side note,my hunting setup was only around the mid 250's this year.I wouldn't call that blazing speed and I hotmelted my points in my arrows and used a broadhead tuner to align the inserts so I would say my arrows were as good as they could get.I also used helical feathers.Yes I hotmelted inserts in carbon.Tricky but with extreme care,it can be done but in no circumstance do you apply heat to the shaft,only to the insert.
