Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I prefer bases screwed directly to the receiver over those held onto dovetails.As for the cost difference here in canada the optilock bases and rings cost $165 while the leupold bases and rings cost $70 for a difference of $95 canadian.Since I don't belive the opti locks are stronger or more dependable I am certainly not going to spend $95 more to buy them.
