I'm happy for your experience..that kind of service is a rarity from most companies.
In my experience as a HCA dealer/shooter for 6 or 7 years in the 1990's, what you might deem 'hearsay", has been truth. I've been so angry with them(and really I'm a laid back guy, though sometimes I get ruffled a bit quick on the boards), I've even punched a hole in one of the walls at the shop. I've had a woman sob hysterically when HCA wouldn't back up a brand new bow that fell apart out of the box when she had scraped and saved for months to buy it for her husband on their anniversary(and the shop "ate" a $700 Ultra Extreme). I've had several bows come in w/ different cable lengths on the same 2 cam bow. I've had bows come in w/ a 14" and a 16" limb on the same bow. I've had them refuse to sell my shop extra strings for a new model because they "need them for future orders". I've had cast Extreme models come in w/ stabilizer & rest mounting holes drilled at various angles...the list goes on. I've had them outright lie on dleivery times citiong a certain part was not available, when 4 days prior a different CS rep told me that particular part was in, but they were waiting for something else (which was available according to the girl week). I've had shooters jackets on backorder for 8 that's 8 months with similar excuses, then have the rep tell me they are not having any made, and never did! The same thing w/ the original Excalibur grip ("Oh,they are being made now"..a year later "Oh..they are being made now"...2 1/2 years after stating they would be made "this year", the LH plastic grip shows up..and they don't even make them..Alpine does.)
I'm all for them becoming #1 for CS in the industry, really. I hope to god they have improved since I worked with them. But they have a reputation for the worst CS in the industry for a reason, it wasn't rumor or trash talking..they EARNED it.
As you asked folks not to assume bad things because you had a good experience w/ HCA , you should not assume that everyone has had the same experience w/ HCA as yourself.
Not trying to start an argument, just showing the view from another pair of shoes.
When you get a well made one, a HCA bow is a fast, forgiving, great shooting piece of equipment, and I still own 2.
