I can't believe how many guys think that the 9mm is a lousy self defense round.
We're not saying that that it's lousy; just that the .45 is better. I'm my opinion, energy is very important, but so is penetration. A 9mm with some 450 ft/lbs of energy doesn't really do the job if it doesn't go deeply enough to destroy vital organs or shock the nervous system. Especially if the target is wearing heavy or thick clothing (gunfights occur in winter, too). The heavier, slower rounds often outperform smaller, lighter ones in real-world situations.
