You might want to just try shooting instinctive\verses sights, and limit your yardage to 20 yrds. till you get comfortable shooting at this distance, then practice upto 25rds to 30yrds. But with recurve your pretty limited on your yardage distance when hunting.
Some people are just plain naturals when it comes to shooting a recurve instinctively, but you might just give it a try without the sights and it will be frustrating at first, but that is whats sooo challenging about shooting a recurve bow-- it's like a good book, you just can't put it down; when shooting a recurve you yourself will see that you will slowly improve the more you start to get familiarized with your bow and your shooting style, I started shooting one two years ago and I can tell you they are alot of fun to shoot.
