I just read an article about this unit in Petersen's Bowhunting. I think that alot of the problems you are relating were mentioned in the article....short overall range, sensitivity of the transmitter, poor picture quality, etc... So, if the Steatlh Digital is anything like the regular stealth MC2-G then I think you are headed in the right direction.
