The Rem 788 has a reputation for extreme accuracy...it's a fine horse gun...throw it in the scabbard and go hunting.

Some of them had some feeding problems but with their accuracy nobody ever needed a second shot anyway. The action was used as a benchrest action for a while by the crazies in the tight group circles and still is to some extent.

Back in the early '70s they sold (with a scope) for under $125 and today they're (used) ABOUT $300.....WISH i HAD BOUGHT A TRUCK LOAD OF THEM THEN!!!!
