I just walk to it...

Walk down the edge of the woods, into the path by the pond, where it exits the pond, it splits 4 ways, I walk up the 2nd path from the right, keep right and ignore the left split, keep walking until I either see my path, or see the fallen log about 2 feet after my path. Follow the path for about 10 yards, bend over to get under the fallen tree, go another 15 or so yards, and climb up.

I only use a flashlight when walking out, but usually keep it in my pocket turned on, it makes my jacket glow.
