That sucks I would be calling the DNR if it happens again, might as well log a complaint. It sounds like your very fair landowners and really aren't limiting access, hard to believe somebody would be ticked off with your type of landowner. I would suggest you put up new signs that say "Hunting with Written Permission Only", this may deter some individuals from thinking about not obtaining permission first. More than likely it is a local, as they know who you are, your setup and feel they have access to anybodies land just because they live in the same RM, this is not true legally nor is it ethical but happens lots (as I am sure you are aware). I hope you can find out who did this and have a chat with them about their illegal behaviour. They would be charged with tresspassing and killing of a hawk, while it maybe a slap on the wrist the loss of license, fine and record would result.
