Default RE: Value moose hunt

nyflyer, why don't you check into quebec? lots closer, good moose population. also, if you felt up to it, you don't need a guide! i looked into doing it 2 years ago. after you do your homework, and get the proper permits, you just have to form a "party". if a person shoots a moose, tags come in two parts, one partner has one part, the other one the second part. both need to tag. trouble is, if 3 people go, the way it works, one goes home empty handed. but, you can buy tags over the counter. personally, this is the way i would do it. get a hotel on this side of the border, hunt on the other side. seems like the tags were only 100? or so. or, i saw plenty of guides advertising. don't forget the new hampshire draw, the odds for an out-of stater getting a tag are supposed to be about the best in the country. guess i still can't beat the odds, yet to see one with my name on it.
