RE: Rem 673 Guide Gun - .308 or .243 cal.
Question for akbound...
In using the 1.5x5 Leupold on you 673, I understand you didn't need to remove the rear sight. What about the shark tooth front sight? If you left it on the gun, can you see it in the scope at any of the magnifications? I've never seen one of these guns in person (just in print and on the Internet) so maybe the front sight in not as high as it looks???
I'm thinking seriously that I NEED 673 and since I've already got one of the short 1.5x5 Leupolds, I think it would make for a nice scope for that gun. Least the physical dimensions of the scope won't overpower the gun.
Speaking of accuracy, how does your gun group w/ factory ammo. Say at 100 yards? I'm not a reloader, so this is of interest to me. As it's been said many times, only accurate guns are interesting.
