Unless you use an extremely aggressive helical it might just work
Frank, why do you see that as a concern? The rest drops/swings away, so contact should be a non issue, unless you order the kit and use it as a standard fixed position rest like the others they sell...
No idea on price point, I'll try to find out and report back. Hopefully cheap enough so you or Rack will take the plunge
