Default RE: Barrel break in

Actually, T/C don't even recommend bore butter in their fast twist inlines with sabots. They told me on the phone to use #13 cleaner. He explained with sabots, that you will never get the bore butter coated perfectly and uniformly with bore butter this causes harmonics in the barrel that might cause variable muzzle velocitys. I tried his advise and anothers advise to just spit on the patch. The bore butter caused the most spiratic muzzle velocities and the spit thing acturally worked just as good as #13 cleaner.

As far as breaking in, with sabots, I don't think it makes a difference, lead maybe. You break in a centerfire to mainly smooth out the throat and to do some polishing of the rifling. I might be wrong. I just don't understand the "seasoning" idea. Come on guys, my barrel tastes just fine.
