RE: .308 or 30-006 for deer???
i don't know much about the 308, but i would say get the 30.06. I just went thru the same thing you are going thru now.. i liked the 3006 for because of the availability of bullets and loads you can shoot. Ammo is available everywhere and it's cheap.. but i really like the fact that i can shoot 120 gr all the way up to 220 grain and everything in between. It's a proven cartridge, and recoil isn't that bad at all especially if you are already shooting a 7mm mag. It's a 30.06 for me. With that i can hunt what i want without worry.
