Default RE: how many missed shots??

I missed a pile this year, most were due to not shutting the truck off and having a shaky rest to shoot from on running deer and some were at night! Then there were 2 I missed with the bow purdy tuff shots though!!! First was 80 yards in a stiff breeze missed 4 feet low and 1 foot behind him & the other was trying to thread the needle through the tickest hazel brush on a trophy bull elk. Let me not forget shooting 250 yards with my ML at Mulie Buck and trying to attempt the Texas lung shot on Buck fleeing from cover with loads of under brush. All in all I only wounded and never found a few, filled some tags and made the odd good desicion this fall...hey I know not perfect but I just get so darned pumped when I see animals I sometimes forget my mind. Maybe next year I will practice at least a week before season opens to get a better handle on things.

Sounds pretty stupid but reality is we rarely hear the stories that lead up to the harvest. I for one know misses do and can happen, this year I missed 2 coyotes total (1 - bow and 1 -rifle) & last year I hit everything I aimed at(except the odd target...lol). The reason I have missed few in the past number of years is practice(loads of it), confidence and knowing my ablilities/limitations. It is one thing we can control in this sport and I stress the importance of getting out and practicing more to all (myself included). Know your abilities and limitations and stick to them, in time you will be more confident and your abilities will increase..so don't be let down you can't make that 40 yards shot with the bow or 250 yard shot with the rifle....Practice makes perfect(well better)!
