They have been making that rifle for several years. I've never been close to one, but like you say it is an interesting concept. I'll have to go way back through my Black Poader Hunting mags. I thought they did a review on the rifle in the late 90s. I would guess it needs a scope to be really accurate. Sights radious is pretty short otherwise.
