Willbjew..... Slow down! I would say the opposite of what you are saying. Keep doing what you are doing. At 8-9 weeks old you are ahead of schedule. Remember that you are dealing with a pup that is stilll trying to get accustomed to his environmnent. Keep on drilling the basic obedience. That is the foundation to what all of your future training will be based on. What you wand to do is put him on a 30ft check cord when he retrieves the objects...and decides he is going to stray....give him the here command with a slight tug on the cord....eventually he will realize that hey....here means get back to my owner PRONTO! reps...reps...reps....
