This is a pain but it works, mark the spot where the dog is when you give the command. If it comes to you, pick it up bobily , do not hurt it, and carry it back to the spot where you wanted it to sit. Make it sit and then you walk back to where you came from. They hate this and in time will sit anyplace on command.
