Had an FFL. Had to give it up on Klintoon's watch. He and his ilk made it impossible for a small time gun-dealer to do business. Small-gun businesses were targeted as a political trophy and were expertly excised from the free market.
I couldn't run such business from my home so I found a friend that would let me run it from his established business. The local township boards had jumped on the same "politically correct bandwagon" and it would have cost me $3000 for a site plan review (even though it was already an established business) and another $3000 for a parking site review.
I'm not that upset b/c I had originally gotten into the game for lower prices for myself. My involvelment actually probaly hurt (just a little) the REAL small time gun dealer. But the push to lower the actuall # of FFL's out there had a huge effect on some valid, established small shop gun dealers.
I may get back into the game someday, but the costs have gone up considerably. If you are really interested, you can contact your local BATF agent and they will provide you with the information about how to obtain an FFL.
