So you are telling me you have at least shot 4 deer a year for the last 25 years on average? Man, you are really awesome. I might have been born at night, but not last night. LOL.
You need to read a little deeper. In my original post I mentioned being in law enforcement and slitting the throat on a car hit deer. From October to late November we average over one car deer hit a night. Those deer are then shot with a handgun or squad shotgun to finish them off. Shooting one a night is very common here in WI. Especiall in the suburbs were hunting is limited and deer are plentiful.
I have also participated as a sniper in the CWD eradication zone shooting numerous deer in that capacity
And finally I bow, gun and Muzzleload on a property where I can hunt in my backyard every day the seasons are open. I have been hunting for over 25 years.
Now that you mention it I would say I have taken close to 200 deer.
Just a couple more than 9. I also think there isn't a guy in this forum that believes you have shot 9 deer and not one has ever gone past 20 yards.
Hell, I watch the outdoor channel almost everyday and even the pros aren't doing that.

All joking aside, I do respect the fact that you wait until the perfect shot. My point is that even with a perfect shot there are times when deer don't die immediately even though they are not going anywhere and death is inevitiable. The guys heare just don't want to see the animal suffer anymore than it has too.
You will have it happen to you also when you have a few more under your belt no matter how good you shoot. You also can't predict what the deer is going to do ie.. turn when you release, jump the string etc..
