This is just funny!!! Swamp Dawg must have only shot one deer in his lifetime. If you've never had one run past twenty yards you have either only shot one or two or have amazing luck. I am sure the first is more correct. The deer I spoke of earler was shot with a .50 cal muzzle loader from 20yds through the lungs and it only went twenty yards, however, it still had a lot of life left.

My 8pt bow kill this year was through the lung and died over five hours later. Maybe our Buffalo County deer are a little tougher than the average (LOL).
I practice with my bow several times a week year round and am a professional marksman so it certainly isn't a problem with practice.

In fact I've probably shot over 100 whitetail with rifle, muzzleloader, and bow and very few lung shot have gone only twenty yds. Usually when you have a good hit they make the death run and cover a lot of ground fast.

The lung hit usually is a quick clean kill, but certainly isn't always instantaneous. You will learn this after you hit a few more deer.

Say what you want, but I have a hard time believing you actually had a double lung shot and the deer lived as long as you say. Your shot placement wasn't obviously where you say it was. Maybe you are right. Maybe I am just lucky. I have only shot 9 deer in my life, but I make darn sure that my shot placement is perfect. To me, its not quantity, its quality. I have passed on dozens of deer that probably most people would shoot at, because making a clean harvest is my utmost responsibility as a hunter. And as far as shooting over 100 deer, man, you sound like Wilt Chamberlain bragging about how many women he has slept with! LOL. So you are telling me you have at least shot 4 deer a year for the last 25 years on average? Man, you are really awesome. I might have been born at night, but not last night. LOL.
