I've used 3, 4 & 5" feathers, depending on the set-up. For Mechs the 3" ina helical work fine. For fixed blades 4 or 5" is the way to go.

BTW, good to see ya back Gromage..haven't seen a post of yours in a long time (or am I just oblivious?)
