if i get the .22-250 theres all kinds of varmint loads for it but for the .243 i havnt noticed many factory 55gr cartidges.....
That's because a 55-grain bullet is too light for the .243 bore! You can get tremendous velocity initially, but it drops off extremely fast, and is very sensitive to a little breeze. IMO, you will lose all the advantage that goes with a .243" bore for varmint shooting if you use such a light slug in it!! Use at least an 80 or 85 grain bullet!!
