take the scope away from my eye and look again for maybe ten seconds and i pick him out in the brush. I put the scope on him and he's a big racker. A bruiser for this area. I took the only shot i had... a front on chest shot.
Tanner you picked out what everyone else had missed and I agree this could very well be the reason for a poor hit. I don't care if it is a slug or any other heavy projectile, hitting the smallest of limbs can throw a shot off. A deer can and will bleed heavily from a flesh wound which is what could have happened here, he may have grazed either shoulder or the brisket. I am sure that rackassasin has learned a valuable lesson from this one, I know he has busted his butt trying to find this buck.
