sounds good to me, it will look even beter to you if that is what you want.
one thing that I have noticed about the yew in my Crusader is that it is GETTING darker with age and use. when i got the bow it glowed, now the yew has taken on a darker hew. replaced the shelf and strike plate the other day and made my wife take a look at the diff just to make sure i wasn't going crazy but the area covered by the rest was 2-3 times lighter in color than the rest of the woods.
as far as the information nazi's go on the other site i sure wish i could find someone that saved the plans from the thread that got locked referring to making a 10" shaft tapering machine. i guess someone saw $$$$$$$$$$ in there eyes and the spirit of good will and freedom of information exchange went out the window.
i may visit there but i try not to get involved.
