I believe that a corn feeder in the middle of the woods would be considered a deer's "turf". Also, I do not put feeders out simply to have a good ambush spot, I want to give the deer at least a little something to eat when the winter turns bad. Two years ago, we had a major ice storm and the ice covered the ground completely, no doubt killing numerous deer and other animals for that matter. So, as I always say, if my supplemental feeding helps just one deer make it through the winter, then it was worth every dime. We have to also take care of the critters that we hunt, or they may not be here long.
