I've owned a good number of cheap Tasco and Bushnell scopes and never once had a problem with any of them.

You can not blame the scope all the time. I am not a rifle hunter but with a rest, my shotgun will comes close. However you take any gun and cartridge and change just a few drams or grains of powder. the wind , or maybe get over excited and the outcome is, "you can't blame it all on the scope". Human era is always a factor.
