bogobble you must listen to AG&F trained game wardens or thier biologists?
I have seen bucks with antlers the 1st of march. the yearling does will be bred in jan and feb .
No sir bud, I'm talkin from experience here. my father-in-law took one around Christmas several years ago, 8pt. as he loaded it in the truck, he dropped the head, and both antlers fell off. I killed a deer the first week in January a few years ago, I could tell it's forehead looked almost white. after I tracked him down, it was a buck that had already dropped his antlers. one year later,in early Jan, saw another buck with that whit lookin head, it was another buck that had dropped his antlers. like I said, some will keep them through Jan in to feb, but most have done drooped them. you guys need to get out there and hunt late december and early jan regularly, then you'd see this ole bowhunter knows the scoop.
and besides muzzleloaders still have two days and gun season is open for three days after xmas. so why the bowhunter in the post?
you gun hunters just don't understand.

besides for meat, what do you gun hunters accomplish by killin a deer, even a nice buck? anybody can take a high powered rifle and kill a deer at 100-200-even 300 yds, but when you take one with a bow, then you got braggin rights.

just kiddin gun hunters, I know ya'll enjoy your huntin just like us bowhunters. but I gaurrentee ya, it ain't near as challenging or as exciting.
